The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) has appointed Dr Carl Brincat, previously its chief legal and enforcement officer, as its new chief executive with immediate effect, filling the void left when Heathcliff Farrugia stepped down last year.
The MGA said Brincat was selected after “a highly competitive selection process” after it launched a public call for applications on 17 December.
“It is an honour to be selected to lead the organisation at such a critical juncture for the MGA and the industry alike,” Brincat said. “I am proud of the work that has been done by the Authority so far in raising regulatory standards and committed to ensuring that we continue along this path.
