A group of activists under the aegis of the Take-it-Back Movement on Monday staged a protest against the National Assembly over the recent distribution of brand-new SUVs, each valued at N160 million to its members. The group described the action of the lawmakers as insensitive coming at a time when Nigerians are grappling with poverty, hunger and unemployment. Speaking on behalf of the group, Emmanuel Larry said the ostentatious and extravagant display of wealth by the elected representatives was an affront to the Nigerian people.
