(GREENBAYPHOENIX.COM) â Green Bayâs season came to a heartbreaking end in double overtime on Thursday night at the Kress Center, as the Phoenix fell to No. 10 Purdue Fort Wayne 89-84 in a Horizon League first-round tournament game.
PJ Pipes led the Phoenix with 27 points including 8 points in the two overtime periods despite playing with an ankle injury.
Both team shot well with the Phoenix beginning an impressive 15-of-27 (56%) from the floor while Purdue Fort Wayne followed closely behind at 14-for-31 (45%).
Green Bay led by eight on two separate occasions in the second half. The Mastodons came on strong late and diminished GBâs six-point advantage to one in 43 seconds, making it a one-point game with 8:19 remaining, 55-54.

(GREENBAYPHOENIX.COM/WNFL) GREEN BAY â Green Bay put an end to Northern Kentuckyâs six-game winning streak in overtime Friday picking up an 86-82 win at the Kress Center.
Green Bay which improved to 7-10 in the Horizon League was led by Josh Jefferson and Emmanual Ansong who scored 27 and 24 points, respectively.
Amari Davis added 12 points for Green Bay.
Ansong scored seven of his career-high 24 points in overtime and grabbed nine rebounds for the fourth time this year.
The Phoenix led by two points with 35 seconds left in the second half but a jumper by Bryson Langdon tied the game. He was fouled by Davis on the play but missed the ensuring free throw.
