INTERVIEW by Richard Roeper
INTERVIEW WITH BILLY CRYSTAL
Billy Crystal hasn t directed a movie since 2001 s 61 , the story of the 1961 home run race between the New York Yankees Roger Maris and Mickey Mantle but he s behind the camera again and is the co-writer and star of the bittersweet comedy/drama Here Today, based on a short story by his longtime friend, the veteran comedy writer Alan Zweibel. I saw Alan on Letterman telling this story, said Crystal in a recent video chat. There was this horrific charity lunch he had with somebody who bid on him and he was the prize, and he finds out she only paid $22 for him. Then she proceeds to have an allergic reaction to seafood salad, he then has to call an ambulance for her, he has no idea who she is and she doesn t have insurance, so this charity luncheon cost him $2,300.
Legendary comedian and classic Democrat Billy Crystal, who did fundraisers for Wisconsin Democrats just months ago, and campaigned for Barack Obama (both times), is now an enemy of the people, according to lefties.
Yep, the long time supporter of the Democratic party and its policies and goals was talking about how its easy to say the wrong thing and anger the masses in the modern era, which was the wrong thing to say and angered the masses.
Here’s what he said, from the New York Post interview that sparked a “prove him right” trend.
“It’s becoming a minefield and I get it,” the comedian told The Post. “I don’t like it, I understand it … I just keep doing what I’m doing and that’s all you can do right now.
Tiffany Haddish and Billy Crystal hit it off immediately when they first met.
The pair co-star in Here Today , which Billy also directed and co-wrote and Tiffany revealed her nerves about meeting Billy quickly disappeared as soon as they started talking.
She told The Hollywood Reporter: We hit it off immediately. As we he was trying to tell me about it, Iâm like, âYou donât have to do all of this talking. Iâm doing the movie. Itâs done. Itâs in the can. Weâre going to the Oscars.
However, she revealed she was worried about the meeting as she had just taken her braids out.
