COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State spring commencement ceremonies returned to Ohio Stadium for the first time in two years Sunday, May 9, and among the 12,345 degrees conferred were 15 to members or former members of the Ohio State men’s and women’s cross country and track and field teams.
Actually, there were two in-person commencement ceremonies that Ohio State President Kristina M. Johnson presided over at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Jamie Dimon, chairman and CEO of JPMorgan Chase, delivered commencement remarks virtually.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – It was simply another terrific, terrific afternoon indoors at the SPIRE Institute’s Big Ten Invite for the track and field teams from Ohio State University. Eight more wins Saturday enabled the Buckeyes to secure over a third of the wins – 13 wins in 34 events – in an eight-team field that included teams from Michigan, Michigan State, Indiana, Nebraska, Maryland and Iowa.

Defending Big Ten indoor champion Adelaide Aquilla is a three-time winner for the Buckeyes so far this winter. The senior lofted the shot put 17.13m/56-2 ½ to win the competition and climb into the Top 5 nationally. The event also featured Sade Olatoye taking third (16.62m/54-6 ½) and Divine Oladipo finishing fourth with a toss of 15.81m/51-10 ½.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s and women’s track and field teams returned to racing and competitive action this week at the Hoosier Hills Invitational in Bloomington, Ind., hosted by Indiana University. Each team put forth some formidable performances in the five-team event that included the Buckeyes, the host Hoosiers and teams from Michigan State, Purdue and Wisconsin.
Some highlights for the Ohio State women:
• One week after Allie Guagenti placed 5th in this state of Indiana to lead Ohio State at the Big Ten cross country championships, she returns to the state and wins the mile run in 4:51.53. Addie Engel and Daniella Santos were 3rd and 4th, respectively, in 4:56.90 and 4:59.32.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s and women’s track and field teams will open their respective 2021 indoor seasons tomorrow at the Simmons-Harvey Invitational, hosted by the University of Michigan at its UM Indoor Track Building. Ohio State will join four other teams in the day-long meet: Michigan, Indiana, Michigan State and Purdue.
The men’s competition will run from 10 a.m. until approximately 1:30 p.m. while the women’s meet will take place from 3:30 p.m. until approximately 6:30 p.m.
