Sentence date fixed as man admits affray and criminal damage

By Advertiser Reporter Man admits putting brick through kitchen window A MAN who threw a brick through a window and made threats will be sentenced next month.  Appearing before Swindon Crown Court, Dwayne Henry, 32, of The Bungalows, Pinehurst, pleaded guilty to affray and criminal damage.  Judge Jason Taylor QC adjourned for a pre-sentence report and bailed Henry to return to the crown court for sentence on May 5.  At a hearing last year, magistrates heard that Henry had threatened to stab his victim after being asked to leave the man s home on July 14, 2019.  It was said he then threw a brick through the man’s kitchen window, striking him in the back of the head.

Richard Hunt, 38, was on post-sentence supervision when he carried out what a Swindon judge this morning labelled a “pre-meditated and cruel” robbery on his male victim, who suffers from a brain condition. The career thief, who committed his first robbery in 2002, tricked the man with the promise of toy models then struck him with a chair, rained down blows, bound his hands and placed a pillowcase over his head.

Trial for brothers accused of plot to deal cocaine and cannabis

By Advertiser Reporter THREE brothers will stand trial over allegations they dealt cannabis and cocaine in Swindon. Pinehurst men Grant, Isiah and Jared Tafari all deny conspiracy to supply the class A and B drugs between December 2019 and November last year. Appearing before Swindon Crown Court last week, Grant Tafari, 27, and Jared Tafari, 22, pleaded not guilty to conspiring with others to supply cocaine and cannabis. Their younger brother, Isiah Tafari, 20, denied the two counts of conspiracy to supply controlled drugs. He also pleaded not guilty to possession of around £14,500 of criminally-acquired cash and driving a Ford Mondeo dangerously on Ferndale Road last May.
