(Martin Rickett/PA) ACCORDING to the government’s current ‘road map’ out of lockdown, pupils will be returning to classrooms from 8 March. Secondary school are allowed to stagger the return over a week to allow Covid testing to be carried out. While it’s great that schools are now being allowed to return, what about the months of essential classroom learning that they have missed out on? The government are working on a series of plans to help bridge this learning gap. A £720m package is being announced to help pupils in England catch up and the introduction of summer schools are also being considered.
