Nicholas Wells, 29, who pleaded guilty to sexual assault at Salisbury Crown Court on Friday, knocked at the door of his victim’s caravan in Hudson’s Field, Salisbury, the day before he launched his vile assault in May 2019. He was said to have asked about a lost dog, Swindon magistrates were told in March this year. The following night, on May 19, the victim was having a shower in her caravan. She came out of the shower and was molested by Wells.

A Birmingham man who slapped his partner in a hotel lobby has been fined. Lamar Burris, 24, of Selcroft Avenue, was found guilty in his absence by Bristol magistrates earlier this month – then picked up on a warrant and put before Swindon Magistrates’ Court today. The West Midlands man had denied assaulting a woman in the lobby of a central Bristol Travelodge on September 4 last year. Prosecutor Emma Charleton told Swindon JPs Burris and his partner had checked into the hotel on August 31. Five days later, a member of hotel staff overheard them arguing first at the rear of the hotel. He heard Burris tell the woman: “What are you still doing here? What are you going to do about it?”

Trial for man accused of throwing plaster over traffic warden

A WILTSHIRE man will stand trial over allegations he threw plaster over a Swindon traffic warden. Appearing before Swindon Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, Robert Silk, 32, of Bradenstoke, pleaded not guilty to assault by beating and criminal damage. It is alleged he threw plaster over a Swindon Borough Council traffic warden in Old Town on July 16 last year. At the time, an image of the plaster-hit warden was shared by Swindon council. Swindon Council shared this picture of its traffic warden last July Picture: SBC Silk, appearing before the court wearing a smart suit jacket, spoke only to confirm his personal details and enter his not guilty pleas.
