Emirates unveils new premium economy cabin experience
The new Premium Economy cabin offers 56 seats in a 2-4-2 cabin layout.
Emirates has unveiled a brand-new Premium Economy cabin product, as well as enhancements and a refreshed look across all cabins onboard its newest A380 aircraft.
The airline has already received its newest A380 aircraft from Airbus’ Hamburg facility, and its remaining order of five A380s will also be delivered with premium economy cabins over 2021 and 2022.
Emirates’ premium economy seats will also be installed on some of its Boeing 777X aircraft which are only due to join the fleet in 2023. The airline has also shared plans to retrofit its existing A380 fleet.

Emirates is one of the last bastions of the A380. Thanks to its critical mass of the product, once vaccines take hold and confidence in travel returns, the airline will be well poised to offer luxury travel to the masses once again. The carrier already has an arsenal at its ready to help position itself as a leader in the exit from the pandemic, with rapid testing already in play at DXB, and the behemoth aircrafts Emirates operates offering space that will be of importance to long-haul travellers.

It’s been a long time coming but Emirates has – finally – introduced premium economy seating. It is launching on the Heathrow route next week.
The Middle Eastern airlines have all been behind the curve on the introduction of premium economy cabins, first pioneered by Virgin Atlantic and Eva Air in the 1990s. For example, Qatar Airways has said in the past that it believes its economy product is so good that it doesn’t need a premium economy cabin …..

Dubai: Emirates has introduced its Premium Economy cabin along with enhancements across all cabins onboard its latest A380 aircraft. While others cut back, Emirates is working hard to restore the products and services that we’ve had to suspend or adjust due to pandemic precautions, and introduce new offerings and enhancements, said Tim Clark, President Emirates Airline.
The airline received the new A380 aircraft from Airbus’ Hamburg facility last week, and its remaining order of five of these aircraft will also be delivered with premium economy cabins over 2021 and 2022.
