Community colleges, CIRAS to lead statewide manufacturing technology consortium
BY BUSINESS RECORD STAFF Thursday, April 29, 2021 2:47 PM Iowa’s community colleges and Iowa State University’s Center for Industrial Research and Service (CIRAS) today announced a new consortium to support the manufacturing sector in adapting to “Industry 4.0” the global move toward digitalization and automation.
The new consortium includes key state associations and agencies that have agreed to partner for the best interest of manufacturing businesses, the Iowa Association of Community College Trustees and CIRAS said in a news release.

The People s National Party s Norman Horne has advised the Governor General that he will not take up his seat as an Opposition senator.
In a statement on Thursday, Mr. Horne said the decision was made after discussions with family and close friends.
Mr. Horne said there was full appreciation of the implications for the PNP if the matter remained unresolved.
On the matter of his US citizenship, Mr. Horne said the renunciation can be a lengthy process complicated by COVID-19 protocols.
He said after the announcement that there would be an election for a new party leader, he decided not to further pursue the renunciation.
