Adirondack lawmakers and advocates are applauding the new state budget, which includes more than $100 million for projects in the park and $400 million for environmental protection across New York State.
Last weekend, a woman fell 80 feet in a serious climbing accident in the Adirondack High Peaks. She was airlifted out of the mountains. That same day an injured hiker was carried off of Cascade Mountain and a day earlier an injured hiker was helped off.
