SSC Honor Society inducts new members SSC Seminole State College recently inducted seven new members into the Psi Beta honor society. The seven students inducted for the 2020-2021 academic year were: Emily Ridley of Tecumseh, Taryn Washburn of Shawnee, A-yo Jones of Seminole, Kimberly Durr of Seminole, Harmony Gillespie of Shawnee, Dominic Green of Shawnee and Bethany Randall of Tecumseh. Psi Beta is the national honor society in psychology for community and junior colleges. The mission of Psi Beta is professional development of psychology students through promotion and recognition of excellence in scholarship, leadership, research and community service. To become a member, students are required to have an overall grade-point-average of 3.2 with at least a “B” or better in psychology and to have demonstrated a genuine interest in psychology. SSC has held an active charter with Psi Beta since 1996. SSC Psychology Professor Christal Knowles serves as the faculty sponsor.

Xero Boss Insights 2021 report, authored by demographer Bernard Salt, found that across Australia there was a net increase of about 47,000 new business in Australia who gained an ABN number. According to the report, Queensland accounted for 7358 new businesses with Greater Brisbane making up about 4900 or a 2.4 per cent rise in the 12 months ending in June last year. Over that period there were 1590 new business registered on the Gold Coast and 876 added on the Sunshine Coast.

(WTOC) - The Richmond Hill community is mourning after a 7-year-old was tragically killed while riding on his scooter.  It’s a nightmare being played over and over in Emily Ridley’s mind. “I remember hearing, ‘A car, a car! Jack! A car!’ I already knew. As a mother and someone who’s in tune with their children, you just know.” Her 7-year-old son, Jack, tragically killed after being hit by a car while riding his scooter. The very activity he so enjoyed doing with his older siblings.
