A person familiar with the defendant said the family had previously warned the owner of the dog that they would defend the ducks if the dogs came by again.
Jacob Dow, 28, Donald Dow, 29, and George Dow, 77, are due in court Thursday on various charges connected to the shooting death of Emily Meattey's dog, Zoe.
