Art kit project helps spread the joy of art

WOOSTER - This December, Wayne Center for the Arts, Local Roots and local artist Carli Moorefield are working together to bring art to kids in Wayne County, according to a news release from the WCA.
From now until Dec. 23, proceeds from sales of Wayne Center for the Arts ornaments, handcrafted by Moorefield, will be used to purchase art kits for families in need. These art kits will be distributed free in a drive-through art event on Wednesday, Dec. 23 from 2 to 6 p.m. in the Local Roots parking lot.
WCA Board President Emily Mariola helped coordinate the project, seeing a need to “get art to kids” this holiday season. Sponsors and donors have raised enough funding to provide 200 art kits. The project featured in this art kit is a winter snow scene painting, a project designed by WCA Pottery Coordinator Adam McVicker.
