In response to a recent incident, a pro-life group is reminding people that newborns never have to be left to die.
Detroit police were recently called to Lincoln Park, where they found the body of an abandoned newborn. The baby died after his birth, though how long he lived before that has not yet been determined, and the circumstances of his death are unclear.
Emily Kroll of Right to Life of Michigan tells One News Now the state has a safe haven law that allows a parent to give up a newborn. There have been 273 babies saved in the last 20 years, she notes.
