L.A. County’s Inspector General is looking into allegations of racial discrimination raised by a joint LAist-ProPublica investigation on high school campuses in the Antelope Valley.
A data study by Cal State Northridge and Neighborhood Legal Services found that Black Antelope Valley residents made up one-sixth of the population, but they were involved in one-third of all deputy stops.
The claim alleges that Deputy Daniel Acquilano the school resource officer at Lancaster High School body slammed and straddled MiKayla Robinson after she refused to give her phone to him and walked away.
