The suspect 34yearold aaron alexis was a Defense Industry employee and former navy reservist. Investigators say he was killed during a running gun battle with police. Police say alexis killed 12 people, seven of them have been identified. All were civilians ranging in age from 46 to 73. Three others have been shot and wounded but are expected to live.
