Bray visual artist 1iing heaney’s debut solo exhibition of new work at Mermaid Arts Centre explores themes of “preservation, perpetual life, replication, and authenticity in the digital world”, in an exhibition called World Without End.
An event of a very different kind is coming to the Mermaid Art Centre, on Saturday, July 29 as recipients of the Experimental Circus Award get to showcase new performance pieces on the night.
Mermaid Arts Centre has commissioned artworks by Liing Heaney, Brigid O Brien, Alan Clarke and collaborators Joanna Kidney and Michael Geddis.
Each artwork was printed on a postcard and sent out to over 40,000 households in County Wicklow. This postcard is a small gift of art from us to you, as a reminder that art can bring us all a little bit of joy, intrigue or inspiration, even in these difficult times, said a spokesperson for Mermaid. If you received a postcard you might like to pop this on your fridge or on a desk. These are a series of four. These postcards are a pledge to you that we will be here when we can all gather again, to inspire and entertain you.
