Down by five points at halftime, the Blair Oaks Lady Falcons talked about things they needed to do to be successful in the final two quarters. But the Southern Boone Lady Eagles didn’t let that happen. “It all comes down to the start, we always talk about doing the things we talk about in the locker room in the third quarter,” Blair Oaks coach Brandon Moore said after the Lady Falcons dropped a 57-37 decision Wednesday night to the Lady Eagles in Tri-County Conference action at Blair Oaks High School.
It wasn’t a great night at the free-throw line for the Helias Lady Crusaders. But they made them when they needed them the most. The Lady Crusaders hit three of their final four attempts at the line Friday night to hold off the Southern Boone Lady Eagles for a 51-49 victory in a clash of state-ranked teams to win the Class 4 District 9 Tournament title at Blair Oaks.
Helias never got the lid off the basket. The Lady Crusaders shot 25 percent overall, 21 percent from beyond the arc and 35 percent from the free-throw line Wednesday as the Southern Boone Lady Eagles took a 53-36 win at Rackers Fieldhouse.
