Olando Emile Aleki of Salisbury appeared in Richlands Magistrates Court today where he applied for bail. But magistrate Aaron Simpson refused the application, saying Aleki told police he had heard voices and was an undiagnosed schizophrenic. A man accused of taking a one-year-old boy from his cot at his Brisbane home yesterday will stay behind bars after appearing at Richlands Magistrates Court. Olando Emile Aleki, 31, is facing two charges including stealing a child and enter dwelling with intent. He applied for bail but was refused. His lawyer Tahlia Boettcher tried to argue Aleki has mental health issues, but admitted he is undiagnosed and unmedicated.
