QC cops told PDEA of buy-bust on day before Commonwealth shootout

Published February 25, 2021 8:24pm The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency was informed about the Quezon City Police District s plan to hatch a buy-bust operation against two drug personalities in the city, documents obtained by GMA News indicated. According to Emil Sumangil s exclusive report on 24 Oras , documents showed the QCPD coordinated with the PDEA on February 23 a day ahead of the anti-drug operation and the deadly shootout between QC policemen and PDEA agents.   The operation was supposed to be led by a police major with 29 other officials and operatives. Based on the document, the Regional Tactical Operations Center of the PDEA-National Capital Region accepted the coordination form of the QCPD on the same day.

According to Emil Sumangil s exclusive report on 24 Oras , the source said a member of the QCPD already exchanged money for a kilo of shabu worth P6 million with the seller, a woman who later turned out to be a PDEA asset. The buy-bust money was said to be P1 million. The rest was reportedly in fake bills. The shooting reportedly started after the transaction was completed. The policeman who posed as the buyer and the other who was also in plain clothes each suffered at least 15 gunshot wounds.

According to Emil Sumangil’s report on “24 Oras” on Wednesday, Jose Ledda III, lawyer of the Dacera family, said they will exhaust all possible remedies to seek justice for Christine’s death. “We always base our moves and actions sa documents na hawak namin, but it doesn’t mean that the family counsel will not exhaust possible remedies para ma-seek ‘yong justice na hinahanap ng pamilya,” Ledda said. “Ang accusation ng family is that there is a crime,” he added.
