suspects in less than a minute. the suspect was armed with an assault-type rifle. as soon as he saw the officers, he engaged them in fired at the officers with that rifle. we have three officers that engaged the suspect. despite the fact that they were out-gunned with their handguns against the rifle, those three officers were able to fatally wound that suspect and the event ended very quickly. of course, we have the aftermath of dealing with the victims in the emf side of things. we put out a call for help. we had over 20 agencies, federal, state, county, and local agencies, from all over that responded to people down in our park. it was incredible to see the cooperation and how quickly they put this together.
