SHAPLEIGH, Maine – A Springvale woman lost her life in a motorcycle accident on Emery Mills Road on Sunday.
Marisa Standly, 27, of Springvale, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to York County Sheriff William King. Standly was a passenger on a 2019 Harley Davidson motorcycle that Olaf Nordmann, 51, also of Springvale, had been driving.
Nordmann, seriously injured, was taken to Maine Medical Center, according to King.
Deputies reported to the area of 64 Emery Mills Road after they received the report of a single-vehicle crash about 2:30 p.m.
“Witnesses reported that the motorcycle was traveling north on Emery Mills Road in Shapleigh and veered off the road onto a soft shoulder and into some trees,” King said in a press release Sunday.
