I think someone else had a question about users. We did an analysis of compensation data for fiscal year 18. We found that a quarter of Police Officers make 50 of their salary or more in overtime. Which just another piece of evidence of the exhaustion and the expense of the overtime when its not properly manage and controlled. Supervisor fewer thank you very much. Before we break for little pause to give everyone a pause here. I know this is going to be a more lengthy conversation. I think we are will have Public Comment. I want to say quickly that the performance audit of the San Francisco Police Department did show increase in overtime hours for arrests and investigations that coincide to increase number of arrests. Arrests 30 decrease, arrest overtime 76 increase by your own chart, im sorry i forgot your name. Karen. By your own chart the bulk of overtime is extension of hours finishing up the watch. Having said that, i would like to open this up now for Public Comment. Im so sorry
Even is it 150 new officers, how many people will retire. If you take the departments number of 75, you still only need to take 19 of those peoples time to dedicate to the number of hours that they are requesting on foot beat for overtime. Its just a choice about how to use those people. Just like it was a choice not to implement the Management Controls on overtime. The other element of staffing too, theres a charter requirement. The controller certified we have met that charter requirement as of now. Am i wrong . Net of positions is enough officers. Do you want to clarify . The other point i want to make too is that this idea that the department was funding the overtime through its own budget doesnt mean theres not an opportunity to delete the overtime and repurpose it. Means departments budget by balanced. Finally, this idea that the overtime it is also a timing issue. A certain point theyre saying is that they have the staff to come and be able to fulfill all these duties without us

As you know, we publish our fiscal year 2223 annual report yesterday, so im going to talk about how to navigate the site and some of the key take aways from the report we did.
