Former employee files lawsuit against Cambria County | News, Sports, Jobs

pray@altoonamirror.com A former employee of the Cambria County Department of Emergency Services has filed a federal lawsuit alleging that she lost her job last year as a telecommunicator after complaining to her supervisors about a hostile work environment. The lawsuit was filed last week in the U.S. District Court in Johnstown by Pittsburgh attorney Colleen Ramage Johnston. It has been referred to the court’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Program, which offers ways to resolve legal disputes out of court. Christy L. Janciga, who stated in her complaint that she is a Caucasian mother of a bi-racial child, and that while at work, she was subjected to a “racially and sexually hostile work environment on a regular basis.”

There was no fire, only one person was injured due to cold burns, the spokesperson for the Fire and Emergency Service Department said.

Cumberland, Adams and Franklin counties experiencing outages of 911 system Updated Jan 20, 2021; Several south-central Pa. counties are reporting outages of the 911 phone system on Wednesday afternoon, according to social media posts from officials. Franklin County’s Emergency Service Department tweeted there is a phone outage affecting the three counties’ 911 and non-emergency lines. The problem was first reported just after 2 p.m. Texting 911 is still an option in Franklin County. There is a major phone outage that is affecting Adam s, Cumberland and Franklin County s.
