Jasmine M. Johnson clearly had a vision when she first saw her home in the Harambee neighborhood.
Despite the home s crumbling interior walls and ceilings, floors coated with decades of grime, and piles of debris, she could envision a comfortable home with modern amenities for her and her son, Jeremiah.
But her vision didn’t stop there.
She also knew how she would transform the over-4,000-square-foot Queen Anne style home that was built in 1888 that she bought from the city.
“As part of my offer to purchase I committed to using at least 90% diverse suppliers. That was important to me. I wanted to invest in the neighborhood because I was moving back to the city for my job,” she said. She is vice president of sales, Milwaukee, at iHeartMedia Markets Group.
