A former head of the internal supply department at Ukraine’s SBU security service, suspected of embezzling state funds during fuel purchases, has been taken into custody for 60 days with a UAH 3 million ($76,000) bail, the High Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine announced on April 12.
“Former and current high-ranking officials” from the Defense Department, as well as managers of the Lviv Arsenal company, were involved in the embezzlement of almost $40 million (UAH 1.5 billion) the SBU press service reported on Telegram on Jan. 27.
