The blizzard warning in the sierra is set to expire in under an hour. At that time it will be downgraded to a winter storm warning. Chp managed to clear the last of the nearly 100 big rigs and 300 cars trapped up on the roads there, but things have not cleared enough for them to reopen interstate 80. Which means kelsi thorud is still stuck up in truckee where even the locals are starting to get a little fed up. Reporter you can see the snow is still coming down here in truckee. Its been like this pretty much all day, not as bad as it was yesterday, but we are going on four days of this storm and the people here, theyre resilient, but this is a lot to deal with. This is a huge pile of snow that all the piles have just pushed over off the main street here in truckee. Thats not the only pile around town. Earlier today we kind of walked down this main

This is from the Mark Hopkins Hotel just about 20 minutes ago, caught a spectacular view of a rainbow. You can watch in the time lapse. It kind of goes away. Its not all blue skies like that. You look out the window, you can see its still pretty cloudy. A live view from our roof looking out over the bay. So we caught a brief glimmer of absolutely fantastic. But ive got to bring you back in time now to demonstrate why the National Weather Service Extended the blizzard warning. The weekend before super tuesday saturday, state senator scott register and vote hes not facin himself, but wants to get involved to increase voter turnout. We got to get the vote out. Turnout is really low so far and we want to make sure people know about this election and know that it matters. Two years ago, during the june midterms primaries, voter turnout statewide was about 33, according to the secretary of states office.
