As the COVID-19 pandemic challenges the existing education model, deans across six colleges at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) believe that the new graduates of the university are skilled to handle real-world challenges.
Founding Dean of the College of Health and Life Sciences (CHLS) at HBKU, Dr. Edward Stuenkel, said that as the world continues to be challenged by a pandemic, graduates’ acquired skills and knowledge allow them to have a positive impact on the health of communities worldwide.
“They leave CHLS equipped to confront current and future health threats, whether pursuing scientific discovery within research laboratories or careers in any aspect of the biomedical and healthcare sector. We are very proud of our graduates and wish them well,” he said.

Doha: Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) has signed a Trilateral Contribution Agreement with Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) and the Geneva Institute for Graduate Studies (GI) as part of the Qatar Scholarship Program, an initiative from QFFD.
The agreement, signed via video conference, is part of Qatar’s program for scholarships that is overseen by Qatar Fund for Development. It is also part of an initiative from the fund to enhance national and regional competence in the field of international development to attract international students from developing countries, and to increase academic outcomes related to development in the Middle East and North Africa region.
