DUBAI, 2 hours, 59 minutes ago Nearly 650GWh of electricity savings has been recorded by the use of district cooling in Dubai in 2020, which is in excess of the annual savings target of 420GWh, participants heard at a meeting of the Association of District Cooling Operators Dubai. The third meeting of the association that focused on some of the industry s pressing issues, most notably the adoption of innovation and modern technologies in providing the environmentally friendly district cooling services to over 3.3 million population of Dubai. Ahmad bin Shafar, Chairman of the Association and CEO of Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower), presided over the meeting in the presence of Ahmed Butti Al Muhairbi, Association s Secretary General, and the Secretary General of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy (DSCE).
