F/B GEM-VIR 1 brought back to shore after it was hit by Chinese vessel off Reed Bank or Recto Bank in 2019. A panel headed by the Department of Justice (DOJ) will negotiate with its Chinese counterpart next month for just compensation for the crew members of a fishing boat sunk by a Chinese vessel in the West Philippines Sea in 2019. Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra said the meetings would take place on June 2 and 7. The Philippines will be represented by officials from the DOJ, Department of Foreign Affairs, Department of Agriculture, and the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources.
