“It’s moving to a site where it’s going to see more use and maintenance,” Webster said. “She’ll be spinning her sails amost every day. The visitation for it will go way, way up.”
“If we can help a young person feel good about themselves and get to enjoy this final big thing besides walking across that stage on graduation day, then we will,” said Katie Patrick, executive director of the Grove Community Christian Outreach Center.
A preliminary investigation found that Fife ran off the road to avoid a deer, before overcorrecting and overturning into a ditch. While Fife sustained serious injuries, they are not considered life-threatening, police say.
“I cried, I couldn’t help it, when they called and said they found the church spot,” Roots said. “It’s taken some time but we’re proving our history out here. We’re proving we were here and people are going to know what happened to us.”
