EM Bureau Kohima/Dimapur, Aug. 11 (EMN): Three dead bodies were found at separate locations in the state, the police said. One person was found dead in a drain on Thursday morning below Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK). Until afternoon, the identity of the person was not established and was only identified later in the evening by the family members at the police station. The Additional SP and PRO, Kohima Police, Vitoshe K Sumi, speaking to Eastern Mirror informed that the wife and children came for identification in the evening, and he was identified as Pardeshi Lal (45). The deceased hailed from Bishnupur (Helta), Gumla district in Jharkhand, presently residing in Zubza GREEF camp in Kohima. The police officer informed that the exact cause of death is yet to be ascertained as the result of the post-mortem is awaited. EM Bureau Dimapur, July 18 (EMN): As India reported its second confirmed case of monkeypox on Monday, with the test result of one patient from Kannur in Kerala, who landed at the Mangalore airport in coastal Karnataka from Dubai on July 13, returning positive for the disease, the department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Nagaland, issued an advisory in the public interest. Issued by Dr. K Vikato Kinimi, Principal Director, department of Health and Family Welfare, the advisory informed that Monkeypox is a viral zoonotic disease that occurs primarily in Central and West Africa and come from the virus family called Orthopoxvirus. “Monkeypox is a viral infection that originated in rodents and primates and transmitted to people. EM Bureau Imphal/Dimapur, June 30 (EMN): At least eight persons were killed and more than 50 went missing after a massive landslide hit Manipur’s Noney district in the early hours of Thursday. A sub-inspector (SI) posted at Noney told Eastern Mirror over the telephone that out of the eight victims, seven belonged to Territorial Army and one a Railways worker engaged in the construction of the Imphal-Jiribam railway project. The source added that at least 18 injured persons were rescued during the rescue operations carried out by the Central and state agencies on Thursday.
