Elyse Gonzales director of Ruby City, a contemporary art center in Southtown would like the gallery to establish stronger connections with institutions in Latin America, particularly Mexico.
Taller Talk: Jennifer Ling Datchuk Taller Talks, an ongoing streaming series featuring artists speaking about their practice, will continue with a conversation between artist Jennifer Ling Datchuk and Ruby City Director Elyse Gonzales. Trained in ceramics, Datchuk works with porcelain and other materials often associated with traditional women’s work, such as textiles and hair, to discuss fragility, beauty, femininity, intersectionality, identity and personal history. She currently lives and works in San Antonio and is an Assistant Professor of Studio Art at Texas State University. Co-presented by Ruby City and the Carver Community Cultural Center.
