The 53rd annual Pancakes/Sausage Day hosted by the Northwestern Ruritan Club will be 7a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Northwestern High School.

Culvert replacement to begin on Bates Road Bates Road in Chester Township will be closed for five days between state Route 250 and Smithville Western Road beginning Monday for a culvert replacement projects, according to the Wayne County Engineer s Office. The recommended detour is Route 250 to Elyria Road to Smithville Western Road, and reverse. Detour signs will be posted. Culvert replacement on state Route 95 State Route 95, just east of South Jefferson Road, will close Monday, May 17, for a culvert replacement. The detour for eastbound motorists will be Route 95 to state Route 179, south state Route 3, north to Route 95, and reverse for southbound motorists. Estimated completion is Friday, May 21.

Wayne County road projects The Wayne County Engineer’s Office will service over 135 miles of county roads this year. It also plans to replace nine large culverts. Projects currently disrupting traffic are on Dalton Fox Lake Road and South Elyria Road.
