elmendorf. he is the guy who wrote this report at a hearing next year. the cbo will boost demand and services over the next few years and the net demand will in turn boost demand for labor over the next few years. that s the conclusion you make, right? yes, that s right. so when you boost demand for labor in this kind of economy, you actually reduce the unemployment rate because those people who are looking for work can find more work, right? yes, that s right. so there is elmendorf, the head of the cbo making clear this report shows the government believes in its nonpartisan work here that the baltimore health care plan will create more jobs. the demand for more jobs. but this isn t the worst distortion. we re going to stop with that for a minute. let me go to nia-malika henderson. this whole thing, some of it was

but it also makes clear what the strength of the economy, what we call in economics the demand coming out of the economy for more jobs, for more resources, for more growth, the good stuff that really makes the economy leap forward is going to be there because of obama care. pretty clearly stated by elmendorf, the head of the cbo yesterday. and yet the republican media machine continues. that s right. at some point all those things that elmendorf laid out will probably be a reality. but i do think there is still some uncertainty about what this what obama care actually means for the economy. the economists are actually not quite sure because we haven t had this sort of expansion and these sort of marketplaces in individual states, and certainly not across the country ever. so they looked at two states, oklahoma i believe and in tennessee as well. and so i think republicans are very much playing into the sort of unknown here and playing on people s fears. and in many ways, i think it
with kids or do whatever else they decide to do. i actually didisagreezkmz mr. elmendorf here. i think he is usually right on. i don t thing you ll see 2 million people not work. we have a very tight labor market, and everybody who has a job now is holding on with bothe out there waiting for the job. doesn t mak ñi sense to me on the math level. if for $1,000 a year you stop working at a job that pays 15 to $20,000 a year, that s not a shrewd decision and says miami do are so idiots. don t think there s an idiot. i think this is an idiotic argument. i don t want to criticize elmendorf anymore than i have but his analysis is idiotic. he keeps saying there s going to be you know, steve, love you dearly, (cáñr you love it when your analysis goes your way, and you don t by the way he s not that is what the argument is. the argument here is you will be encentavossed not to continue
working because the law provides the benefits so you don t have to. yeah. and you even said as much earlier. who would do that? basi]1qey for everybody $800 a month that your income goes down your premiums. that sounds crazy. i know what they re doing. they re preparing for the worst and trying to spend $ñr positively. this is the relief. this isn t a burden. this is a relief. you know that i tell you the way nancy pelosi presentedçóñr r other prominentñrñr democrats, they re putting a positive spin to something that is awful. no. no.ñrñr even elmendorf says it s not people losing their jobs. it s people who will decide not to work. and let s assume he is right don t thin%rñr he is. assume he s right. if the people actually decide not to work, my prediction is they would be either trying to start a new business,ñrñr whichy
