The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls golf team hosted a make-up River Valley Conference triangular in Kalona Tuesday when West Liberty and West Branch paid the Hawks a visit. Mid-Prairie shot a team score of 220, their best team nine hole score of the year. That was good enough for second, beating West Liberty’s 258 but falling to West Branch’s championship 211. Gabi Robertson led Mid-Prairie with a 52. Other scores for the Golden Hawks included Alexa Huber 54, Madelyn Bender 55, Elliot Debler and Madi Davidson 59, Madison Witthoft 64 and Claire Zirkelbach 81. Mid-Prairie continues their busy week today in Muscatine for the River Valley Conference championship meet.

The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls golf team dropped a River Valley Conference dual Monday at Wahkonsa Golf Course near Wilton. The Wilton Beavers defended their home course with a 217-223 victory. Madelyn Bender led Mid-Prairie as meet medalist runner-up with a 50. Other scores for the Hawks included Alexa Huber 52, Gabi Robertson 60, Claire Zirkelbach and Elliot Debler 61 and Madi Davidson 62.

The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls golf team hosted their annual 18-hole Golden Hawk Invitational at the Kalona Golf Course Thursday. Mid-Prairie finished eighth of 10 competing teams with their overall score of 444. Iowa City Liberty won the team title at 361. Top finish for the Golden Hawks came from Madelyn Bender with a 99, which included a 48 on the front nine, taking eighth place overall. Other scores for the Hawks included Alexa Huber 111, Madi Davidson 115, Elliot Debler 119, Gabi Robertson 122 and Madison Witthoft 145.

The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls golf team welcomes nine other teams to the Kalona Golf Course Thursday for their annual 18-hole Golden Hawk Invitational. Mid-Prairie has been off since April 12th when they fell to the Tipton Tigers 238-248. Elliot Debler led the Hawks with her round of 60. For the season, Mid-Prairie is paced by Madi Davidson with a 60 average per nine holes. This is the Golden Hawks first 18-hole event of the season.
Joining the Golden Hawks in Kalona today are River Valley Conference foes Durant, Iowa City Regina, Tipton, West Branch, West Liberty and Wilton along with Fairfield, Iowa City Liberty and Williamsburg. Action begins at 12:30 and continues into the afternoon and evening at the Kalona Golf Course.
The Tipton Tigers beat the Mid-Prairie girls golf team in a River Valley Conference dual Monday night at the Kalona Golf Course. The Tigers got the win by a 238-248 score. Alli Nash from Tipton was meet medalist with a 43. Mid-Prairie was led by Elliot Debler’s 60. She spoke with KCII sports after the meet about her round. “I think today’s round was good, it was better than last time out. Especially my short game and chipping, those definitely improved. The course was a little wet and it was a little windy but it played okay.”
Other scores for the Golden Hawks included Madelyn Bender and Madi Davidson with 62s, Gabi Robertson and Alexa Huber with 64s and Madison Witthoft at 83.
