Katelyn Mashewske won a career-high 13 draw controls in Syracuse s 15-12 win over Notre Dame. Syracuse had a 22 to 7 advantage on draw controls.
Notre Dame goalie Bridget Deehan dominated the first half, but possession after possession for the Orange eventually became too much for the Irish defense to withstand. No. 2 Syracuse completed a weekend sweep of No. 3 Notre Dame, winning Sunday’s game 15-12 despite falling behind 7-2 in the first half.
Syracuse sophomore Katelyn Mashewske keyed the victory, registering a career-best 13 draw controls to help the Orange to a 22-7 advantage. Mashewske had just 11 draw controls for the season coming into the weekend, but had 12 in the 18-14 victory on Thursday and followed it up with a dominating performance in the circle on Sunday.
