Four confirmed dead in crash on Marcus Garvey Drive, Kingston

Two teenagers are among four persons killed in a motor vehicle accident, which occurred along a section of the Marcus Garvey Drive in Kingston, on Friday night. The deceased have been identified as 23-year-old Javian Dove of Barracks Road, in St James, 18-year-old Kryshana Ellis of a St Catherine address, 16-year-old Damar Patterson of Tawes Meadows, in Spanish Town, and 20-year-old Anthony Samuels of Ellerslie Pen also in St Catherine  Reports are that at about 11:45 pm, all four persons were traveling in a Honda motor car, on Marcus Garvey Drive, heading towards Portmore, when on reaching a section of the roadway, the driver lost control of the vehicle which crashed into a utility pole.

Relative of former Spanish Town don held with illegal gun, ammo

A 20-year-old man who is said to be a relative of a former Spanish Town, St Catherine don, is now in police custody following a snap raid that led to a firearm seizure on Friday. The man, identified as Roneal Hope, otherwise called ‘Ron’, unemployed of Old Harbour Road, Spanish Town, was arrested at about 10 pm. Reports are that in a joint police-military patrol conducted a snap raid in the Ellerslie Pen community, during which the accused was seen and accosted. During a searched, a Sig Sauer 9mm pistol with a magazine loaded with fourteen 9mm rounds of ammunition was reportedly found in his right front pants pocket.
