ELLENVILLE - Village police are investigating a homicide that happened late Tuesday night by the Berme Road Park.
Police said they responded around 11 p.m. Tuesday to what was first reported as a hit-and-run car-pedestrian accident.
When officers arrived, they found an unresponsive, unconscious man lying in the roadway, bleeding. Police discovered that the man had not been hit by a car, but had been shot multiple times.
Paramedics and other personnel from the Ellenville First Aid & Rescue Squad were called to treat the victim, but police said he had died of his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
