As the coronavirus pandemic wears on with its restrictions, difficult financial times continue as well.
With that in mind, communities throughout the Thumb have welcomed a free service that helps provide some relief. Blessing Boxes offer free non-perishable food as well as some baby and hygiene products.
Santa Claus to make special visit to Elkton

ELKTON Santa Claus will be making a special trip to Elkton to see the kids there just before Christmas.
The Oliver Township Fire Department, the Elkton Lions Club, and other Elkton businesses are having Santa ride throughout town on an Oliver Township firetruck for about an hour, starting at 1 p.m. Dec. 19.
Some of the streets Santa will go down include Hoffman Street, Main Street, Clark Street, Weber Street, Monroe Street, York Street, KcKinley Street, and Brown Street before ending on Main Street. Santa will be on each street for about five minutes.
