Red, White and Tuna continues at Elkhart Civic Theatre | Arts

BRISTOL — “Red, White and Tuna” continues today through May 23 at Elkhart Civic Theatre at the Bristol Opera House, 210 E. Vistula St. Written by Jaston Williams, Joe Sears and Ed Howard, this sequel to “Greater Tuna” features Brad Mazick and Preston Reddell playing all 20 of the characters in this comedy directed by Karen Johnston. In Tuna, the third smallest town in Texas, the town is geared up for a double celebration: the annual high school reunion, complete with a hotly contested election for Reunion Queen, and the big Fourth of July town picnic featuring Hot-to-Trot Catering’s famous potato salad. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and at 3 p.m. today and May 23.

Elkhart Civic Theatre holds auditions for Erma Bombeck play | Arts

BRISTOL — Elkhart Civic Theatre is accepting video auditions for the one-woman show “Erma Bombeck: At Wit’s End” through Friday. Presented as part of the second annual Calendar Girls gala event, the performance will be Aug. 3 at Wellfield Botanic Gardens in Elkhart. Additional performance dates will be announced as they can be arranged. Demarée Dufour-Noneman directs. “Erma Bombeck: At Wit’s End” is a comic look at the newspaper columnist, who captured the frustrations of her generation by asking, “If life is a bowl of cherries, what am I doing in the pits?” The play traces the life of the humorist and champion of women’s lives from the 1960s to the ’90s.
