Sheriff’s detectives are investigating a shooting that left an 18-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his leg on Tuesday afternoon.
The victim told detectives that a man in a silver vehicle was driving in the area when he confronted him on Elkelton Boulevard near Crestmore Avenue. The teen told deputies the man shot at him, hitting him in the left knee, before driving off.
The victim was taken to the hospital to be treated for his injury.
Police could not find evidence of a shooting on the street and are continuing to investigate. Detectives planned to search the victim’s car on Wednesday afternoon after securing a search warrant, said sheriff’s Sgt. Michael Hettinger .
