I’m taking this opportunity to answer a few reader questions from the past couple of weeks.
One reader found fault with a recent photograph we carried in the main news section of The Oregonian, showing the aftermath of last weekend’s storm.
“(Your photo) showed a child and an adult appearing to be crawling underneath a huge downed tree. You may call me an alarmist but NO ONE should ever go near a downed tree let alone go underneath one. The photo gives one to think that this is a fun activity and not a potentially dangerous or even deadly activity. I ask that you be more safety conscious when publishing photos and include warnings when safety is questionable.”
