In nearly a century, the us capital is celebrating a baseball world series title. The house of representatives has endorsed the impeachment inquiry into President Trump. The vote was almost entirely along party lines, with democrats supporting it, and republicans against. Its only the third time in modern history that the house has voted against a sitting president. Democrats are looking into whether President Trump betrayed his oath of office by trying to get a foreign power to investigate his political rival. As Laura Trevelyan now reports, its clear mr trump and House Speaker nancy pelosi are on a collison course. On this vote the yeas are 232, the nays are 196. A historic moment. A house of representatives votes to formalise an impeachment enquiry into the president. On the table.
