Q: Is this a fundraising affair? If so, how will the funds raised help your organization?
A: The annual Gratitude Luncheon is the flagship fundraiser for the Mentor Program, and all donations are used to directly support the activities and continued growth of the program.
Q: Who is sponsoring your event, and why is their support important?
A: Having a mentor – particularly in such a challenging environment – can be a life-changing experience. The Mentor Program continues to evolve and find innovative ways to thrive. However, the need for mentors is rapidly growing, as more local youth and their families struggle with the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Financial support of the Mentor Program Gratitude Luncheon enable CADA to match caring mentors with mentees (3rd – 8th grade) who have been referred by school counselors and psychologists as at-risk for behaviors.
Hospice of Santa Barbara
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - This year, there will be two special showings of Hospice of Santa Barbara s 37th Annual Light up a Life which will air on NewsChannel 3.
Hospice of Santa Barbara (HSB) filmed their traditional celebration of reflection, special speakers, poetry, musical entertainment, and the lighting of their Tree of Remembrance, featuring emcee Catherine Remak.
The special will be aired Thursday, December 24 at 11:30 a.m. and Sunday, December 27 at 2 p.m. on NewsChannel 3.
The holiday season can be difficult to navigate without cherished loved ones. HSB honors them every year with Light Up a Life.

Live trees will be displayed at four locations: Goleta, Santa Barbara, Montecito and Carpinteria until the end of the year, and HSB will create traditional paper stars in honor of each digital star donated and place it on the location of the purchaser’s choice.
