Monday, March 22, 2021 - 6:30pm This March, in celebration of Women s History Month, chapters of non-profit organization Les Dames d Escoffier International (LDEI) from around the world are hosting a series of virtual events focused on women, food, beverage and the hospitality industry. Table Talks with Les Dames will feature tastings, food and drink classes and demonstrations, one-on-one interviews with industry luminaries, panel discussions on industry issues and more. On Monday, March 22, 2021, LDEI New Orleans will host its own Table Talk : Missing New Orleans? Drink & Learn History with Two Famous Cocktails. Beginning at 6:30PM CST, the virtual event and cocktail tasting will feature New Orleans drink historian and dame Elizabeth Pearce, founder and owner of the podcast Drink & Learn. Share NGOs: End violence against children Thu, 28 January 2021 Three international NGOs have collaborated to launch a project dubbed Ending Violence Against Children in and around Schools in Cambodia’ (ENDVAC) on January 29 in support of 13,000 children in Siem Reap and Preah Vihear provinces. ENDVAC is jointly implemented by Save the Children, World Vision and Plan International Cambodia, using evidence-based tools and approaches, according to a press statement. Save the Children will lead overall implementation and national coordination. World Vision will handle project operations in Preah Vihear while Plan International will operate in Siem Reap. The project stems from a study conducted in 2013 which found that 52.7 per cent of women and 54.2 per cent of men aged 18-24 reported at least one experience of physical violence prior to the age of 18.
