Charles William Hoffner, II, 76, of Westfield, Ind., passed away Saturday, April 24, 2021.
Family and friends gathered for a viewing and visitation Saturday, May 1, 2021, at 10 a.m. in the Dawson Funeral Home, 413 Walnut Street, Olin, IA 52320, where the funeral service was held at 11 a.m.
A lunch reception was held at the Hale Supper Club at 5522 County Road E-45, Wyoming, following the service.
Charlie was born May 2, 1944, in Iowa City, to Charles William and Bernice Anne (Cave) Hoffner.
Charlie was a true jack of all hobbies, making a hobby out of having hobbies. And he was so successful at all of them. He taught Sunday school, built fences, restored houses, was a Navy brat, planted orchards, played varsity football, collected coins and stamps, built furniture, an eternal bargain hunter, wrote books, poems and music, talked to random strangers on the New York subway, restored an MG, invested in the stock market, fixed vacuum cleaners, led Indian Guides, studied philosophy, an

Shields was promoted from vice president to senior vice president of leadership and director of the foundation s fellowship program. Miller was promoted from associate vice president to vice president of information technology. Budler was promoted from maintenance technician to caretaker of the Will Rogers Shrine of the Sun. Palmer was promoted from a fellow to deputy director of regional partnerships. Hoffner was promoted from a fellow to deputy director of the fellowship program. Hurst was promoted from part-time to full-time assistant at the shrine.
