The distribution will take place at the Benicia Veterans Hall at 1150 First St. from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event comes thanks to grants from Kaiser Permanente, Phillips 66, Valero Benicia Refinery, Wells Fargo and Home Depot.
Some 175 Safe At Home Kits were handed out Friday morning to qualified veterans during a four-hour event, organized by Rebuilding Together Solano County, at the Vacaville Veterans Memorial Building on Merchant Street.
According to Hoffman, in the past 16 years the group has installed 4,800 smoke alarms and 2,800 carbon monoxide alarms. The estimated value of work that's been done is more than $10 million, according to Rebuilding Together.
