The Duke of Edinburgh will be interred in the Royal Vault of St George s Chapel after his funeral today.
But the vault, underneath the chapel at Windsor Castle, will not be Prince Philip s final resting place.
His body will be moved to the church s King George VI Memorial Chapel when his wife, Queen Elizabeth II, dies.

A similar transferral occurred 33 years ago when the body of Prince Philip s mother, Princess Alice of Greece, was moved from the Royal Vault.
